Fire damages South Hall home

Fire damaged a Hall County home early Wednesday morning. No one was injured.

Hall County firefighters responded to the call around 1:45 a.m. in the 6200 block of Laurelwood Trail.

They found the 2,000-square-foot, two-story home with fire and smoke showing.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. One firefighter suffered a minor ankle sprain.

The homeowner was not at home.

Preliminary investigations showed the fire appeared to be accidental and originated in the living room near an ash tray and lamp.

The home was heavily damaged and the homeowner is staying with family and friends.
