High school scoreboard: Oct. 2

Mikhayla Riegel tallied 25 digs for Buford in wins over Johnson (25-12, 25-19) and Chestatee (25-16, 25-6) on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Maggie Roper added 17 kills and five aces for the Lady Wolves (17-14), and Kaitlin Tatum had 11 kills. Tori Payton had 25 assists.

Buford begins play in the 5-AAA Area Tournament on Tuesday in Buford.

For Johnson, Lindsey Anderson had three kills and five digs in the loss to Buford and a win over Chestatee (25-12, 25-17).

Savannah Turk added three digs, a pair of kills and a pair of aces for the Lady Knights (22-11, 6-1), and Kasey Gravitt had three aces and two assists. Lejavian Ratliff had eight digs.

Johnson returns to action against East Hall and Jackson County on Thursday in Oakwood.

EAST HALL SWEEPS QUAD-MATCH: Brittney Campbell tallied 34 service points, 40 assists, 12 aces six kills and five digs for East Hall in wins over Meadowcreek (25-6, 25-13), Cedar Shoals (25-6, 25-3) and West Hall (25-20, 26-24) on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Emily Hoggard added 17 service points with eight kills, six aces and five digs for the Lady Vikings (22-12, 3-4), and Kara Hix recorded 30 service points, 39 digs, 13 aces and six kills. Tarryn Long added 23 kills, 17 digs and four aces with six points on serve.

East Hall travels to Johnson for a tri-match with the Lady Knights and Jackson County on Tuesday in Oakwood.

NORTH HALL BEATS GAINESVILLE IN FIVE: Kristina Gregory led the Lady Trojans with 29 assists and three aces in a win over Gainesville (25-11, 21-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-6) at home on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Sydney Cleveland added 19 kills, 12 digs and four blocks for North Hall, and Allie Staub had 12 digs, eight kills and a pair of aces. Makenzie Bryant tallied 10 digs, two kills and two aces.

North Hall travels to Chestatee on Thursday in Gainesville.

For Gainesville, Lauren Carter added 16 digs, Anna Walker had 16 kills, and Grace Miller had 15 service points. Kaylin Walden tallied 15 service points and 28 assists.

Gainesville (27-9, 7-1) travels to Hart County for a tri-match with Hart County and Oconee County on Thursday in Hartwell.

LAKEVIEW SPLITS PAIR: Katie White had 14 digs and six kills for the Lady Lions as they lost to Hebron Christian (25-18, 25-12) before defeating Athens Christian (25-15, 25-20) on Tuesday in Athens.

Katie Gay had five kills, six digs and an ace, and Shelby Ross had a nine-point service run with seven aces. Samantha Versteeg recorded 22 digs and Delaney Jarrett had 11 assists for the night.

Lakeview travels to Jefferson on Thursday in Jefferson.

HERITAGE FALLS TO BARROW COUNTY: Heritage Academy lost to Barrow County Christian 16-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 on Tuesday.

NORTH GEORGIA BEATS COLONIAL HILLS (MONDAY): The North Georgia Christian Lady Chargers defeated the Colonial Hills Christian Lady Rams in three straight sets 25-15, 25-11 and 25-23 on senior night Monday in Oakwood.

Jordan Ball had 14 service points and seven kills for the Lady Chargers (6-4), and twin sister Nicole Ball had 10 service aces and seven kills.
