George Walton defeats Commerce, 26-14

Commerce fell to George Walton Academy 26-14 on Friday night in Monroe.

The teams went into halftime tied 7-7, but the Tigers could not contain the Bulldogs in the second half.

Commerce quarterback Drew Whitfield opened the scoring on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, but George Walton answered on with a 1-yard scoring run of their own. After halftime, the Tigers scored first again on a 25-yard run by Terrick Ramsey, but that would be the end of their scoring. Quay Little was the leading rusher for Commerce with 70 yards on 12 carries.

George Walton scored three more times, missing an extra point and a two point conversion on the next two touchdowns and scoring seven on the third to take a 26-14 lead, which would become the final score.

Commerce faces Athens Christian next Friday at home.
