Hall County firefighters are battling a house blaze in the 3200 block of LaPrad Circle off Gillsville Highway in East Hall.

They were dispatched to the scene at 6:33 p.m. and found that fire had consumed about 65 percent of the 2,500-square-foot home, Chief David Kimbrell said.

Units saw a “large column of smoke” while approaching the house and made "a defensive attack on the structure due to the volume of fire,” Kimbrell said.

Several neighbors called 911 after seeing smoke and flames coming from the house. The house was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived. Several neighbors said they weren't sure who owned the home and didn't know much about the family who lived there.
