The General James Longstreet Chapter 46 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy kicked off the new chapter year with the following slate of officers for 2012 to 2014: Gail Mangum, Sandra Gaither, Jessica Williams, Helen Powell, Edith Collins, Kimberly Wright, Laura Mullins and Jeane Parker. The chapter was founded in 1896.

Ann Goble of Gainesville has been accepted into the annual member’s exhibition for Women Artists of the West held in Fredericksburg, Texas.WAOW is a national organization with more than 300 award winning, professional women painters and sculptors from across the country.

This nonprofit group fosters appreciation and promotion of art created by women. Goble had to meet strict criteria to be juried into this prestigious organization and her work also had to be juried into the art exhibition.
