J.C. Mathis Jr. and Karen Mathis of Auburn, announce the engagement of their daughter Heather DeAnne Mathis to Steven Lee Reynolds, son of Sammy and Pat Reynolds of Winder.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of J.C. Mathis Sr. and the late Pat Mathis of Winder, and Marilyn McKinney and the late Jim McKinney of Winder.

She is a 1991 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School in Winder. She graduated in 1994 from Gainesville State College with an associates degree in business administration. She is employed as an accounting manager and human resource at Plastek Werks in Cleveland.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Lee and Emma Mae Reynolds of Winder, and the late Jack and Mary Kennedy of Winder.

He is a 1985 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School in Winder. He graduated in 1987 from Nashville Auto-Diesel College. He is self employed in Winder.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 6, 2012, at Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville.
