Gainesville City Council on Tuesday approved an expenditure of $265,000 by the Public Utilities Department to cover the cost of new water meters this year. Council also approved a $129,089.50 purchase of a truck-mounted asphalt patcher. Each expenditure will come from the department’s capital improvements fund.
Council also approved a $36,000 expenditure from the airport retained earnings fund to match some $432,000 in federal and $12,000 in state funds for improvements to the terminal area at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport.
