Commerce wins 3rd straight, tops Banks 28-14

Quarterback Drew Whitfield ran nine times for 47 yards and had a 13-yard touchdown run and a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead Commerce to its first 3-0 start since 2006 in a 28-14 win over Banks County on Friday in Commerce.

Terrick Ramsey had 12 carries and 155 yards rushing, including an 80-yard scoring run for the Tigers. Quay Little had 11 carries for 67 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Jamal Browner and Baron Mather each had an interception in the second half for Commerce, who held Banks County to 185 yards of total offense. Commerce rushed for 301 yards and had 81 yards passing.

The Tigers are host to Rabun County next week in Commerce.
