White County defeated Fannin County 35-28 on Friday in Blue Ridge, giving the Warriors their first 3-0 start since 1975.

Will Brock led White County with 14 carries for 45 yards and four touchdowns rushing.

Brock was 4 of 5 through the air for 107 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors.

Dalton Whitfield had nine carries for 54 yards for White County, and Maurice Sutton tallied 94 yards on seven carries. Will Stonecypher had four carries for 74 yards and led the team in tackles, quarterback sacks and pressures.

On the receiving end, Clancy Loudermilk had two receptions for 71 yards, and Andrew Bergin caught a 33-yard pass from Brock for a score.

The Warriors came out strong, leading 28-6 at halftime, but head coach Bill Ballard admits that the team could have done better in the second half.

“We kind of took our foot off of the gas pedal a little bit and we maybe shouldn’t have done that,” Ballard said.

Regardless, the Warriors are undefeated so far this season, and Ballard said that he is extremely proud of his team.

“They’ve worked hard, and it ended up paying off,” he said. “Our team and community are very excited about Warrior football.”

White County looks to go 4-0 and faces Blessed Trinity next Friday in Cleveland.
