White County's Gearing sets new girls' race record at West Hall

White County’s Jenna Gearing finished in first place and set a new girls’ race record with a time of 19 minutes, 7 seconds at the West Hall Invitational on Tuesday in Oakwood. Witt Nix of North Hall won the boys’ race with a time of 16:20.

The North Hall boys won the team event led by Nix, Bryce Schuebert in second with a time of 16:28, Tucker LoCicero in third at 16:33, Zack Hill in fourth at 16:34, and Quintin Miles in 10th at 17:20.

Dustin Snyder of Lakeview came in fifth with a time of 17:15, and teammate Lewis Brooks finished in ninth with a 17:20. West Hall’s Ricardo Castruita took eighth with a time of 17:18.

West Hall and Gainesville tied for second place as teams, Lakeview finished fourth, and Chestatee was fifth.

North Hall’s girls also took home the first place team trophy, as Victoria Rogers finished in third place with a time of 19:48 and Makayla Ellis took 10th with a 20:58.

Chestatee’s Tori Mullinax took home second place with a time of 19:44, and teammate Sarah Beth English came in fifth at 20:13.

Taylor Long of West Hall finished in sixth place with a time of 20:31.

Chestatee’s girls team took second place overall, White County came in fourth and West Hall was fifth.
