The Piedmont College women’s soccer team stretched its season-opening winning streak to four matches with a 2-0 victory over visiting Emory & Henry College on Sunday in Demorest.
Macie Rooke scored for the Lady Lions (4-0) in the 61st minute an assist from Dilyn MacLean. At the 70-minute mark, Nikki Means recorded an unassisted goal to secure the win.
Piedmont has not allowed a goal so far this season.
The Lady Lions travel to Birmingham Southern College on Sept. 12 in Birmingham, Ala.
PIEDMONT 3, OAKWOOD 0 (SUNDAY): Sidney Smith started the scoring for the Piedmont College men’s soccer team in the 15th minute in a win over Oakwood University on Sunday in Demorest.
Justin Whitaker found the back of the net just before halftime to give the Lions a 2-0 lead at intermission.
C.J. Cirlante netted an unassisted goal in the 75th minute to cap off the win.
Kenneth Hearn of McDonough posted a shutout, making four saves for the Lions.
Piedmont returns to action against Emory and Henry College on Sept. 12 in Demorest.
