The North Georgia College & State men’s soccer team was unable to find the positive result they were looking for Saturday afternoon as the Saints fell 2-1 to Eckerd College in the Peach Belt – Sunshine Challenge hosted by the 10th-ranked University of Tampa at Pepin Stadium.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 1-2 on the young season while the Tritons improve to 2-1 after claiming their second victory over a Peach Belt Conference school in as many matches. Eckerd upset No. 18 Clayton State Thursday evening.
The two schools worked to a 0-0 tie through the first half and the trend continued through much of the second, but it was the Saints who broke the tie when Max Angel scored off a penalty kick in the 66th minute after an Eckerd foul in the box.
