Braselton’s Wilburn earns top honor as Subway franchisee

Robert Terry Wilburn of Braselton received the 2012 Regional Franchisee of the Year award from the Subway restaurant chain at the company’s recent convention in Orlando, Fla.

The award is for accomplishments in building sales and increasing profitability while achieving excellent store evaluations. He earned the honor from among the chain’s more than 12,000 franchises.

“This is a great honor and it is also humbling as there are a lot of great, hard-working franchisees out there,” Wilburn said. “I must first thank my customers, and then my staff, led by store manager Shirley Barlow. We strive to keep a clean store coupled with fast and friendly service.”

Wilburn purchased his Subway franchise on Ga. 53 in 2010 after a career in food manufacturing maintenance management. “Franchisees like Terry are the heart and soul of the Subway family,” said Don Fertman, Subway’s chief development officer. “We take great pride in the hard work and effort made by thousands of franchisees throughout the world and the millions of customers they serve.”
