POSTED: September 8, 2012 12:29 a.m.

Lakeview Academy was able to find offense in different places to lead the team to a 42-0 victory over Hebron Christian Academy and the Lions’ first 2-0 start to a season since the school began playing a varsity team.

Quarterback Ted Reynolds had a pair of touchdowns for the Lions, Caleb Faulkner scored twice, and Jackson Strickland had a rushing and a receiving touchdown.

“Hebron had some turnovers early,” head coach Matthew Gruhn said, “We had a short field, and we were able to score a lot early.”

John Cox had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery that the Lions were able to score off of, and Cox also recorded an interception leading to a Lakeview touchdown.

Gruhn says that Cox’s play “certainly got us off to a good start.”

Going back to last season, Lakeview has won five games in a row and six of their last 7.

As for starting the season 2-0, Gruhn said “It feels pretty good. It’s been a while.”

Lakeview will seek their to continue the winning streak against Pinecrest Academy next week in Cumming.
