The fourth annual Miss Right To Life of Georgia Scholarship and Benefit pageant was held recently at the John S. Burd Center on the campus of Brenau University in Gainesville.

The goal, according to pageant director Amy Brown of Buford, was " not only to support the educational efforts of Georgia Right To Life, but to strive to raise awareness of the importance of the pro-life cause."

This year, 39 girls competed in the eight age divisions for the chance to be crowned Miss Right To Life of Georgia 2012.

They competed in formal wear, interview, and casual wear. They were also given the opportunity to enter optional competitions, such as talent and photogenic. Each age division also crowned a pro-life princess, who was the young lady who raised the most money in their respective age group. The young lady who raised the most money out of the entire pageant was named Miss Right To Life of Georgia Sweetheart.

Miss Emily Talley, a native of Gainesville, was crowned Miss Right To Life of Georgia 2012. Talley, the daughter of Ty and Jill Talley, won the top spot in her 18-22 age division as well as a $500 college scholarship.
