A maintenance project involving the Ga. 53 /Jasper Highway bridge over Amicalola Creek in Dawson County is finished.
The bridge, which is west of Tinsley Chapel Road, is now open to traffic, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Crews had worked to put down a new concrete driving surface and finished well before the completion date of Sept. 31.
The project was one three bridge rehabilitations in a $1.9 million contract awarded to Comanche Construction of Marietta.
The others involved the Ga. 11 bridge over the Middle Oconee River in Jackson County and the Ga. 246 bridge over the Little Tennessee River in Rabun County.
