Tides top G-Braves in 10th, 3-2

The Triple-A Gwinnett Braves took a one-run lead into the bottom of the ninth inning, but Norfolk rallied against G-Braves’ reliever Peter Moylan to send the game to extra innings, and the Tides’ Luis Exposito hit a walk-off home run off of Ryan Buchter in the 10th to top the G-Braves 3-2 on Friday night in Norfolk, Va.

Buchter (0-1) took the loss and Norfolk reliever Greg Burke (1-1) pitched a scoreless 10th to earn the win. Gwinnett second baseman Rusty Ryal led the Gwinnett offense, going 1 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Josh Kroeger and Ruben Gotay also recorded a hit for the G-Braves, who were held to just three hits in the loss. G-Braves starter Sean Gilmartin allowed one run and struck out six through five innings in the no decision.

Gwinnett travels to Durham, N.C. for a 7:05 start tonight against the Durham Bulls, Game 1 of a two-game series before the G-Braves return to Gwinnett for a 10-game homestand beginning Monday, the final homestand of the season.
