Gainesville man injured in motorcycle wreck

POSTED: August 16, 2012 10:54 p.m.

A Gainesville man was airlifted with a head injury following a motorcycle accident this afternoon north of Exit 12 on Interstate 985 northbound, according to Gordy Wright, spokesman with the Georgia State Patrol.

Christopher Daniel Haynes, 27, was driving a 1997 Honda motorcycle when it struck the rear of a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero that had slowed due to traffic, Wright said. Haynes was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. The other driver was not injured.

Traffic was backed up for miles but has since cleared.
