The West Hall and Buford volleyball teams start the season ranked fifth and sixth respectively in Class AAA by the PrepCountry.com preseason coaches poll.

West Hall began its season last weekend at the East Hall Spikefest tournament and went 5-0 to win the gold bracket for the second year in a row. The Lady Spartans defeated Gainesville, West Forsyth, Heritage, Habersham Central and Jefferson (and No. 5 in Class AA) on their way to the tournament title.

West Hall will play Pickens at Chestatee on Thursday, while Buford begins its season tonight at Mill Creek.
