Both lanes of Interstate 85 northbound are closed at Exit 177–Ga. 77/Whitworth Road in Hart County due to a bus fire at milepost 179, the Department of Transportation reported.
Traffic is rerouted to exit the Interstate at Exit 177.
A tour bus caught fire along the shoulder of the interstate. Crews are still trying to contain it, then must work to remove the debris.
Georgia DOT Maintenance Engineers are on site and will inspect the interstate for damage if repairs are needed. Crews hope to reopen the interstate by 6 p.m.
