Toby and Gail Thomas of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Peri Ann Thomas to Ryan Killian Franklin, son of Donald and Marie Franklin of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Toby Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas, and Flora Faye Thomas of Gainesville, and the late Elmer and Lucille Norman of Moultrie.

She is a 2005 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2012 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Judge William Killian and Peggy Killian of St. Simons Island, and the late Lawton Franklin and Irene Franklin of Brunswick.

He is a 2002 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2007 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He received a master’s degree at University of West Georgia in history. He is employed as a professor of history by Piedmont College in Demorest.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 14, 2012, at The Barn at White Oaks in Dahlonega.
