A lawyer for a North Georgia woman facing federal explosives charges has asked a judge to reconsider an order that his client be kept in custody until her trial.

Defense lawyer Jake Waldrop filed a motion Monday on behalf of Celia Alchemy Savage of Cornelia. Federal prosecutors have charged Savage with three counts of making and possessing explosive devices and possessing firearms while unlawfully using controlled substances.

Prosecutors have said Savage should be held because she’s charged with a crime of violence and the safety of others couldn’t be assured.

Waldrop said Savage isn’t a threat to the community, citing her statements that she used explosives and guns as a hobby. He said she’s worked with a doctor to gain emotional stability. He asked that she be released under strict conditions and supervision.
