Miss Jennifer Rebekah Koch and Mr. John William Potts were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. February 2, 2008, at Northside United Methodist Church in Atlanta. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Erich Koch of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Howell Potts of Olympia, Wash.
The Rev. Dr. George Gilman Watson and the Rev. Charles DeBardeleben performed the ceremony. Organist Mr. Jeremy Rush, vocalist Mrs. Nathan Dale Taitt and violinist Dr. Robert Christmas presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's sister Mrs. Jason Ellis Gammons of Birmingham, Ala., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Mrs. Nathan Dale Taitt of Atlanta, Miss Amanda Mary Slade of Whitsett, N.C., Miss Brianna Nicole VanAlstyne of Gainesville, and the groom's sisters Mrs. Ronald Ross Hoard of Spearfish, S.D., and Miss Shannon Noel Potts of Olympia, Wash.
The groom's friend Mr. John Wesley Wayne Barnes of Rapid City, S.D., was the best man. Groomsmen were the bride's brothers Mr. Matthew Philip Koch and Mr. Erich Robinson Koch, both of Gainesville, and Mr. Michael Ryman Koch of Atlanta, the groom's brother-in-law Mr. Ronald Ross Hoard of Spearfish, and the bride's brother-in-law Mr. Jason Ellis Gammons of Birmingham. Miss Anna Maria Koch and Mr. Daniel Morris Potts were program attendants. The bride carried a sixpence in her shoe that was given to her by Mrs. Frank Wiegand and she knelt on an heirloom satin pillow belonging to the late Miss Amanda Padgett that was used by her grandmother, mother, sister and sister-in-law at their weddings.
The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Maggiano's Little Italy in Atlanta on the eve of the wedding.
The bride's parents gave a reception at the Cherokee Town Club in Atlanta following the ceremony.
The couple resides in Gainesville.
