Mr. and Mrs. John R. Turner of LaGrange announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Joanna Lauren Turner to Mr. Christian Little Sims, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Sims of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Grizzle of Atlanta, and the late Dr. and Mrs. J. Render Turner of LaGrange.

She is a 2004 graduate of LaGrange High School in LaGrange. She graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is employed as a marketing specialist at Reznick Group in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Amanda Little of Gainesville, and the late Mr. William M. Little of Athens, and Mrs. Florence Sims of Gainesville and the late Mr. Jack C. Sims of Helen.

He is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2010 from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in housing and consumer economics. He is employed as a product and strategy analyst by Aon Hewitt in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 13, 2012, at Splendor Mountain in Tiger.
