Residents and group of drummers played on the downtown Gainesville square during First Friday. The monthly event features music, artist, face painting and more. The event also features restaurant specials, outdoor dining, and extended hours for downtown businesses. And the Historic Downtown Gainesville Farmers Market is open on the square from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Fridays through October. First Friday continues on Aug. 3 and Sept. 7. The event is presented by Main Street Gainesville.
