The Rev. Frank E. Williams Jr. and Mrs. Thoma Lewis-Williams of Sumter, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Ms. M. Brooke Williams to Mr. Chris L. Young, son of Ms. Birdie Carr Young of Montgomery, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. W. Rogers Young of Conyers.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Rev. Frank E. Williams Sr. and Mrs. Magnolia R. Williams of Sumter, S.C., and the late Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Sybil Baskin-Lewis Sr. of Rock Hill, S.C.

She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in English, Remington College with a diploma in cosmetology and from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service with an associates degree in funeral service science. She is employed at Youngs Funeral Home in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. Washington Carr Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Paige-Carr of Montgomery, Ala., and the late Mr. Willie B. and Mrs. Minnie Gorree-Young of Gainesville.

He graduated from Gainesville State College with an associates degree in business administration, Alabama State University with a bachelor’s degree in management and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service with an associates degree in funeral service science. He is employed as a manager by Young’s Funeral Home in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 3, 2012, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Sumter, S.C.
