The Gainesville American 11-12-year-old Little League All-Stars dropped its game Monday against Athens 6-3 in the District 10 state tournament at the Lanier Point Complex in Gainesville.
With the loss, Gainesville dropped to 1-1 in tournament play and will face Oconee County tonight in Gainesville. The winner in the double-elimination tournament heads to Murphey-Candler Park in Atlanta for the state tournament.
The 10-11-year-old All-Stars from Gainesville National and Gainesville American will play at 6 tonight at Lanier Point. Both are currently undefeated in the tournament. The winner from the tournament travels to Savannah for state.
