G-Braves' losing streak hits 7 in 6-2 loss

The Syracuse Chiefs scored a pair of runs in both the seventh and eighth inning and beat the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves 6-2 on Friday in Syracuse, N.Y.

Jose Constanza had a double, two hits and drove in a run for Gwinnett. while Ruben Gotay was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Yohan Flande (3-6) picked up the loss for the G-Braves, going six innings and allowing two earned runs on six hits. He struck out three in the game. Billy Bullock and Jaye Chapman each pitched an inning of relief. Both allowed two earned runs.

Xavier Paul led the charge for Syracuse, going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Jim Negrych pinch hit for the Chiefs in the seventh inning, knocking a two-run home run off of Bullock.

With the loss, Gwinnett has dropped seven straight. Game 2 of the series is at 7 tonight in Syracuse, N.Y.
