Hall County Commission to vote on fiscal 2013 budget today

POSTED: June 21, 2012 11:18 p.m.

The Hall County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to hold a special called meeting today to set the millage rate and the fiscal 2013 budget.

Commissioners are considering a proposed $89.1 million general fund budget that will reduce county employee furlough days and restore contributions to employee retirement.

The millage rate is expected to remain unchanged. There was no public comment on the budget at a public hearing last week, but commissioners nearly unanimously praised it.

Commissioner Craig Lutz did offer some words of caution with his concerns that the county may be overestimating how much sales tax and fee revenue could come in.

The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex Building at 116 Spring St. in Gainesville.
