POSTED: June 20, 2012 11:30 p.m.

Flowery Branch City Council is set to vote tonight on adopting a 2012-13 budget.

The city is proposing a $5.4 million budget, including funding for its general expenses, water and sewer operations, and capital projects.

The property tax rate would remain at 2.837 mills, with 1 mill equal to $1 for each $1,000 in assessed property value.

The budget, which will take effect July 1, remains basically the same from the current year, including no furlough days but also no raises for city employees, City Manager Bill Andrew said.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at City Hall, 5517 Main St.

The budget can be viewed online at flowerybranchga.org.
