Russ Davis, PGA Director of Instruction at the Cherokee Town & Country Club, made six birdies against two bogies and went on to fire a 4-under par 68 to pace the field in the first round of the Yamaha Atlanta Open at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville.
There is a five-way tie for second place at three-under par 69, and 11 players fired a two-under par round of 70, including a pair of Chicopee Woods Golf Club members, Greg Lee and Jeff Frazier. Chattahoochee Golf Club head pro Rodger Hogan shot a 1-under 71.
The event concludes today.
