Three local athletes won events at the USA Track & Field Georgia Association Junior Olympic preliminary meet in Douglasville this weekend.
Rising Gainesville junior Marcquel Woodard won the 400 and 800 meter dashes, and fellow rising junior Sara Hayes won the 800. Rising Chestatee senior Brandon Thompson won the 200.
The Association championship meet is scheduled for June 21-24 in Fayetteville.
