Hall County’s Marine Rescue boat, known as MR1, is manned by personnel who are cross-trained as firefighters, emergency medical technicians and paramedics, as well as rescue divers.
The main purpose of the Marine Rescue unit is rescue and prevention. The unit responds to boating accidents, possible drownings and other medical calls on the water.
Housed under Hall County Fire Services, the unit primarily conducts rescue operations until the victim is deemed “unsavable,” and then body recovery is turned over to law enforcement.
