Jurrjens, G-Braves pounded by Buffalo, 14-7

The Buffalo Bisons pounded out 14 runs on 17 hits to rout the Gwinnett Braves and starter Jair Jurrjens 14-7 in Game 2 of the four-game series Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, New York.

The Bisons touched up Jurrjens for four runs in the bottom of the first and never trailed in the game. Jurrjens (2-1) gave up 12 hits and 11 runs in his 4 2/3 innings of work. Ten of the 11 runs were earned. He walked two and struck out three.

Buffalo starter Garrett Olson (1-3) picked up the win for the Bisons with five innings of work. He gave up six hits, three earned runs, four walks and struck out six.

Gwinnett finished with a season-high 15 hits despite the loss. Gartrell (3 for 5, two doubles, one home run, two RBIs) and Mejia (3 for 5, double, three RBIs) each had three-hit nights

Tuiasosopo had the big game for the Bisons, going 3 for 5 with four RBIs.

The G-Braves (25-15) and Bisons (23-17) continue the series with game three of the four-game set on Thursday night in Buffalo. Right-hander Julio Teheran (3-1, 2.48) will get the start for the G-Braves, while Buffalo counters with right-hander Chris Schwinden (2-2, 2.45).
