Mr. Donald Sims and Mrs. Rebecca Sims of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Lauryn Rebecca Sims to 1st Lt. Bryan David Martin, son of Mr. Jack Martin and Mrs. Mary Lou Martin of Acworth.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Harold Sims of Cleveland, Mrs. Betty M. Sims of Gainesville, and the late Mr. George Allison and Mrs. Dessie Faye Allison of Chestnut Mountain.

She is a 2007 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2011 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is employed as a sales associate at Coach Inc. in Dawsonville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. Robert Mullen and Mrs. Patricia C. Mullen of Boston, Mass., and the late Mr. Wayne Martin and Mrs. Virginia K. Martin of Pittsburgh, Pa.

He is a 2006 graduate of Harrison High School in Kennesaw. He graduated in 2010 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is employed by the U.S. Army in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 27, 2012.
