The incumbents for Superior Court judgeships serving Hall and Dawson counties and two Hall County State Court judgeships qualified Monday to be on the November general election ballot.

Superior Court Judges Kathlene F. Gosselin and Bonnie Chessher Oliver signaled with the secretary of state’s office in Atlanta that they would seek new four-year terms.

They paid a $3,502 filing fee, or 3 percent of their state pay of $116,749, to qualify. They also receive a local supplement of $52,793.

And Chief Judge Charles S. Wynne and Judge B.E. Roberts filed paperwork with the Hall County Elections and Voter Registration office to run on the State Court ballot.

They paid a $4,734 filing fee, or 3 percent of their $157,821 salary, which is paid fully by the county.

The judgeship is a nonpartisan post.

Four Superior Court judges serve Hall and Dawson counties as part of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit.

Hall County is creating a third state court judgeship after a recent study determined that Wynne and Roberts had the caseload of 3.7 judges.

Qualifying will run through noon Friday.

Other superior and state court seats around the state will be voted on in November, as well as seats on the state Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
