Lawson leads North Hall girls in 4-2 win

Alex Lawson scored two goals for the North Hall girls soccer team (5-7, 5-3 Region 8-AAA North) in a 4-2 win against Chestatee on Tuesday night in Gainesville. Danielle Berry and Tristian Bailey each added goals for North Hall. Alden Powell recorded five saves for the Lady Trojans.

Alexis Rebollar scored both goals for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee led 2-1 going into the second half, but Lawson scored the equalizer off an assist from Hannah Young.

Bailey got the go-ahead goal with under 10 minutes left in the match off an assist from Kelsey Underwood.

North Hall visits Gainesville at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at City Park.

WEST HALL GIRLS 7, MONROE AREA 0: Idalia Avelar scored a hat trick for the Lady Spartans on Tuesday afternoon in Monroe. Brooke Reed added two goals for West Hall, Monica Suarez and Jessica Dambach each scored one goal, and Rachel Kline finished with two assists.

The Lady Spartans host Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 1: Cassidy Elrod, Megan Kirk, Cashen Philyaw, Corrie Thomas and Jenn Moreno each scored for the Lady Falcons (13-1, 6-1 Region 8-AAAA) on Tuesday afternoon.

Flowery Branch visits Apalachee at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Tennis
GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, WALNUT GROVE 0: Connor McMorrow led the Red Elephants with an 8-0 victory at No. 1 singles on Tuesday afternoon. Graham McKinnon and Jake Maddox added an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Red Elephants host West Hall on Friday.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 3, DAWSON COUNTY 2: Singles players Jake Schaefer, Paul Coughlin and Jacob Blalock each recorded wins for the Leopards (5-3, 1-2 Region 8-AA North) on Tuesday afternoon.

Banks County hosts Hart County at 4 p.m. Thursday.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 4, DAWSON COUNTY 1: Singles players Kara Murphy, Macy Milford and Lauren Carter each recorded wins for the Lady Leopards on Tuesday afternoon in Dawsonville.

Kristi Hyams and Hannah Porter recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles for the Lady Tigers.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 5, CLARKE CENTRAL 0: A.J. Morris recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles for the Falcons (10-4, 8-2 Region 8-AAAA) on Tuesday afternoon in Athens. Christopher Hedden and Anthony Monacella added a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, CLARKE CENTRAL 0: Anna Kate Shaw recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles for the Lady Falcons (14-1, 9-0 Region 8-AAAA) on Tuesday afternoon in Athens. No. 1 doubles duo Durden Smith and Dani Taylor added a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles.

STEPHENS COUNTY BOYS 4, CHESTATEE 1: Casey Campbell and Teddy Werner recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win for the War Eagles on Tuesday afternoon in Toccoa.

Chestatee finished second (7-3) in Region 8-AAA North and will receive a bye in the region tournament next month.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 3, STEPHENS COUNTY 2: Katie Arthur and Grace Brown led the Lady War Eagles with a 6-1, 6-2 finish at No. 1 doubles, and Haley King and Caroline Gijon recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles on Tuesday in Toccoa.

Chestatee visits Central Forsyth on Wednesday.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 5, EAST JACKSON 0 (MONDAY): Doubles duo Anna Gailey and Haley Hill recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles for the Lady Leopards on Monday afternoon in Homer. Leia Rylee and Taylor Mullins added a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles for Banks County.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 5, TOWNS COUNTY 0 (MONDAY): Lee Allen Martin recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles for the Lions on Monday afternoon in Gainesville. Grant Hocker and Will Kellemeyer added a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles for Lakeview.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 3, TOWNS COUNTY 2 (MONDAY): Singles players Bailey Towles, Sarah Grace Brock and Vidya Mani-Medepalli each recorded wins for the Lady Lions on Monday afternoon in Gainesville.

Golf

WEST HALL GIRLS 92, LANIER 128: Malorie Smith and Olivia Davis each shot a 46 for the Lady Spartans on Tuesday afternoon at Royal Lakes Golf Club.

West Hall will play Gainesville at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

WEST HALL BOYS 179, LANIER 203: Ryan Allen led the Spartans with a 42 on Tuesday afternoon at Royal Lakes Golf Club.

Chip Allen shot a 48 for West Hall.

The Spartans play Buford at 4 p.m. Thursday at Chicopee Woods.

Baseball

GEORGE WALTON 12, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 4: Dallas Deavers led the Lions (9-5, 6-4 Region 8-A) going 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI on Tuesday afternoon.

Lakeview Academy hosts Social Circle at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

BANKS COUNTY 7, RABUN COUNTY 6: Brenton Ruark, on two days rest, came on in relief of the injured Taylor Foster for the Leopards (6-5, 5-2 Region 8-AA North), pitching five innings and giving up three runs on six hits Tuesday night in Tiger. Ruark struck out seven to get the victory for Banks County.

Tyler Hellmeister led the Leopards at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs.

Banks County hosts Rabun County for a doubleheader at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday.
