Christopher and Deirdre Lynn Blackwell of Gainesville, announce the engagement of their daughter Sharon Rachel Blackwell to Jesse Lee Broome, son of James Allen Broome and Doris Marlene Brown of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Virginia Louise Blackwell and Charlie James Blackwell of Gainesville, and the late Ella Irene Dyer and Ernest Lester Dyer of Gainesville.

She is a 2003 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She is employed as a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Oakwood.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mildred Brown of Gainesville, and the late Toy and Alice Broome of Gainesville.

He is a 2009 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. He is employed as a maintenance associate by Wal-Mart in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 1, 2012, at Maranatha Baptist Church in Oakwood.
