The American Photographic Artists' exhibit, "A Hundred Beautiful Things," will be displayed through October in Atlanta as part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography.

The exhibit includes five selections from Jeff Gulle, photography instructor at North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville. It will be on display at the Calvin Lockwood Studio, 211 Peters St., Atlanta.

"I received an invitation to make a submission," he said. "I submitted five and they took all five!"

His photographs were taken during vacations in Colorado and Alaska, and in North Carolina on a recent field trip with students.

"I had a lot of time to shoot in Colorado," Gulle said, estimating that he took nearly 6,000 different shots. "Of those I had about three or four favorites."

Gulle has entered several shows in recent months and earned critical acclaim.

"I'm trying to encourage my students to start to get their work out there," he said. "Photographers will spend hours or days getting just the right angle, the right light, or the right frame. It only takes a few minutes to submit a photo for a contest, so why not get started now?

"My work is constantly evolving," Jeff said. "My students inspire me every day, and I hope to do the same for them."

For more information on the Commercial Photography program of study at NGTC, contact Jeff Gulle at 706-754-7883 or jgulle@northgatech.edu. Info on all of the photo exhibits is available online.
