'Pump Boys' at Holly takes audiences to rural America

The Holly Theater in Dahlonega will host performances of "Pump Boys and Dinettes" on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 9.

The musical performances tells a story of life at a roadside diner in rural North Carolina through the eyes of two sisters who work at the diner and through four men who work at a service station across the street.

"Pump Boys and Dinettes" premiered on Broadway in 1982 and closed a year later after 573 performances.

Performances are scheduled for Sept. 23, 24, 25 and 30, and Oct. 1,2,7,8 and 9. Friday and Saturday shows will take place at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees will be at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.
