Obama should stop pointing fingers at others

POSTED: August 17, 2011 1:00 a.m.

I want to give a shout of amen in response to a recent letter where the writer encourages President Barack Obama to stop blaming President George W. Bush for our problems.

Every president we have ever had besides George Washington has been handed some issues, problems and plenty of screw-ups from the previous administration. President George Washington certainly had tough things to deal with but not from a previous president as there was not one.

Obama campaigned for a job, spent millions to get elected and promised improvement, yet he seems incapable to lead us out of this unhealthy place we seem to find ourselves. I was astonished last week to watch the leader of the free world give a speech that only deflected blame to others and pointed fingers at opposing parties as Wall Street slipped into a schizophrenic state of confusion and turmoil.

At a time where our country and world needed a calm voice in a storm, he chose to do what seems like the only thing he knows to do: Blame others.

It is imperative that we have a leader now in this place in history that is willing to man up and get a job done or else tell the truth and admit the job is too big and complicated for him and beyond his abilities.

He promised better times, unconditionally. He did not leave himself a way out while campaigning by saying, "I will do the best I can do but Bush might have got this thing too screwed up." No, he promised, he guaranteed, and he had the answers and things have only gotten worse.

In any organization where bottom lines and company stability and reputation are on the line, where growth is measured and profits are counted, the stockholders would demand the firing of this man, this so-called leader.

As stock holders of a great nation, I only hope we can hold out 15 more months to see this president's termination.
