Prep scoreboard: 4 home runs power Red Elephants to victory

Powered by home runs from Robbie Hefflinger, Charlie Newman, Adam Parker and Zach Bennett, the Gainesville Red Elephants shut out West Hall 13-0 in five innings on Monday night.

Sloan Strikland and Blaine Martin each went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Gainesville (19-5, 18-2 Region 7-AAA).

Justin Fordham had six strikeouts in a complete game effort to earn the win for the Red Elephants, who play host to Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

East Hall 9, White County 7
Zeb Miller hit an opposite-field home run and the Vikings received multi-hit games from Drew Adams, Cody Davidson. Ken Wise, Chris Cornett and Wesley Johns on Monday night in Cleveland.

Wise, who was 3-for-4 at the plate, pitched a complete game, striking out three batters to earn the win for East Hall (9-15, 8-12 Region 7-AAA).

East Hall plays host to West Hall at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
