Hall County Humane Society needs cat, kitten food

POSTED: May 8, 2008 5:00 a.m.

The Humane Society of Hall County has an immediate need for donations of cat and kitten food.

The shelter has an increased number of felines because this traditionally is the time of the year when cats have litters of kittens. Any size donation of either cat or kitten food is appreciated.

The shelter is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

For more information, contact Gwen Trimmer at 770-532-6617 or e-mail gwentrimmer@humanesocietyhallcounty.com.

In addition, the Humane Society of Hall County has two rabies clinics scheduled:

A rabies shot clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 10 at the Wal-Mart in Gainesville. Rabies shots will be $10. There also will be raffles and other activities as part of the 12th Annual Kennel Caper & Rabies Clinic, a fundraiser that will be held May 9 through May 11 at the Wal-Mart in Gainesville.

There also will be a rabies clinic from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 24 at Jaemor Farms, located at 5340 Cornelia Highway in Alto. Rabies shots will be $10.

For all rabies shot clinics, puppies and kittens must be 3 months old for rabies inoculations. All pets must be in a carrier or securely leashed.
