Local golf: Hollobaugh takes first at Chattahoochee

For the second week in a row, Ann Hollobaugh took first place in the low gross of the first flight as the Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played at the Chattahoochee Golf Course on Tuesday. Peggy Hall took first place in low net.

Susan Prather won second place low gross, and Norma Rennlinger won second place low net.

In the second flight, Bea Fischer won first place low gross, and Nora Gleason won low net with Carolyn Palmer in second place low gross and Riki Von Stroud was the low net.

Closest to the pin winners were Nora Gleason on No. 3 and Nancy Negley at No. 17.

LUNA'S TUESDAY GROUP: The Luna's Tuesday Golf group played at Chattahoochee this week. First place went to the team of Randy Gordy, Joe Campbell, Johnny Nix, and Jerry Johns.

There was a two-way tie for second place between the team of Joe Roberts, Jimmy Harritos, Jim Cornett, and Doug Van, and the team of Don Rogers, Gene Weschler, Richard Strickland, and Leggs Clark. Closest to the pin winners were Gordy on No. 3 and No. 5, Campbell at No.13, and Tommy Lowery on No.17.

CMGA: Eddie Johnson, Bob Henderson, John Beem and Wayne Nelson took first place when the Chattahoochee Men's Golf Association played a two-best ball, aggregated net points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Tied for second place were Gene Weschler, Doug Van, Tommy Lowery and John T. Smith and Jack Costello, Butch Teston and Jim Hesser.

Closest to the pin winners were Bud Clegg (No. 3), Jack Costello (No. 5), Clay Bartlett (No. 12), and Joe Kolesar (No. 17).

WEDNESDAY DOG FIGHT: Greg Lee, Karl Steigle, and Don Schrum won the two-best ball net event this week at Chicopee Woods, shooting 13-under par.

Tied for second, with a score of 12-under par, were Mark Black, Joe Roberts, Geoff Archibald, Jake Everett, Mike Tilson and Lou Vega.

Don Schrum had the best score of the day at 65, followed by Lee's 69.

Everett, Archibald, and Jerry Horton tied for third at 72.
