DAHLONEGA - The second-ranked North Georgia softball team pulled off their biggest comeback of the year on Saturday, scoring three unanswered runs to sneak by third-ranked Valdosta State at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium in game two of the Captain D's Classic in Dahlonega.

The Saints improve to 22-3 on the year as they win their first of four straight games against top-five teams in the country, while Valdosta State splits on the day after taking down Tusculum 3-0 in the opening game of the classic as the Blazers move to 8-2 overall on the year.

The Saints had a chance to score a pair of runs of their own in the first inning when Ansley Williams led off and sent a double down the left field and Kasey Knight followed and reached base, putting runners on second and third with no outs.

North Georgia then went cold at the plate, sending three straight ground outs to the right side and leaving both runners stranded as the Blazers held on to their two-run lead.
