Saints baseball sweeps Mars Hill

North Georgia completed a three-game sweep of Mars Hill, taking a walk-off win in the finale of a doubleheader Sunday in Dahlonega.

In the early game, the Saints pounded out 19 hits in an 18-5 win, led by Brad Hall (4 for 4, five RBIs, one home run). In the day’s second game, Denver Stovall singled to left-center to bring in the winning run in the ninth inning, giving the Saints a 3-2 win.

North Georgia hosts a three-game series against Stillman College beginning Friday.


North Georgia stays perfect in tourney: No. 2 North Georgia took a pair of wins Sunday in the final day of teh Aiken Early Bird Tournament in Aiken, S.C.

Jessica Coan tossed a two-hit shutout in her debut with the Lady Saints, as North Georgia (3-0) topped Charleston in the early game. The offense took over in the second game, with Katherine Martin supplying five RBIs while going 3 for 5 in a 13-5 win over Chowan.

The Lady Saints play this weekend in the Hughston Sports clinic Classic at Columbus State.
