ATHENS —- Direct from New York, "The Water Coolers" comes to the UGA Performing Arts Center for two performances Friday and Saturday in Ramsey Concert Hall.

"The Water Coolers" is the "laugh-out-loud" musical comedy about the things we all share around the water coolers of America every day.

Created by a team of professional comedy writers and executives from the corporate world, "The Water Coolers" features hilarious takes on life, work, husbands, wives, travel, technology and our attempt to balance it all.

Based on real life experiences, the characters in "The Water Coolers" include the Male Office Hottie, the Blackberry Addict and the Overcommitted But Capable Mom, who schedules dates with her husband via Facebook.

In 2002, "The Water Coolers" enjoyed a critically acclaimed engagement off Broadway, brought to the stage by the same producers behind "Hairspray," "Spamalot," and "The Producers." E! Entertainment Television called "The Water Coolers" "the hottest ticket in town," and The New York Times declared, "truly funny ... office life's loss is show business's gain."

The Associated Press described the show as "a breezy, satirical Dilbert-like musical revue that tickles the ears and funnybones."

"The Water Coolers" has toured throughout the country and the world, and in 2010, the show made its debut in Asia at the Singapore Drama Centre. The Singapore Business Times proclaimed: "A hilarious revue with witty lyrics. Every joke was met with laughter - even by the non-corporate types - making it a successful Asian debut."
