Johnson leads Young Harris past Reinhardt

Led by 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists from LaDondra Johnson, the Young Harris College women’s basketball team defeated Reinhardt University, 77-55, on Monday in Young Harris.

Breanna Gleeson scored 15 points with three assists, while Lindsey Hammontree added 13 points and five assists for the Lady Mountain Lions (4-8), who shot 53 percent from the field.

Young Harris visits Hiawassee College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Madisonville, Tenn.

USC AIKEN WOMEN 74, NGCSU 34: Lindsey Moss scored a team-high 12 points for North Georgia (10-5, 1-3 Peach Belt) in the loss Monday at the Convocation Center in Aiken, South Carolina.

The Lady Saints return to action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Georgia Southwestern in Americus.

USC AIKEN MEN 76, NGCSU 71: The Saints put together a 13-0 run, but came up short when the final buzzer sounded, falling 76-71 at USC Aiken Monday evening in Peach Belt Conference action.

The Saints dropped their fourth straight game since opening Peach Belt Conference action, falling to 3-10 overall and 0-4 in league play. The Pacers ended their four-game slide, getting back on track and improving to 10-6 overall and 4-6 in league action.

Carl Taylor (20 points) and Elijah Smith (17 points) led the Saints, who return to action Wednesday when they travel to Americus to take on Georgia Southwestern.
