Three area football players highlight the 2010 Region 8-AAA All-Region Team, as voted on by the region coaches and released Friday.

White County’s Ashely Lowery has been named Offensive Player of the Year after compiling 1,340 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 196 carries, making 19 catches for 258 yards and one score and throwing three touchdowns on 3-for-3 passing.

A.J. Johnson of Gainesville has been named Defensive Player of the Year after recording 173 tackles, 10 for loss, during the season for the Region 8-AAA champion Red Elephants.

Shane Doster of North Hall was named Special Teams Player of the Year.
