The Gainesville Jaycees continued their drive to help brighten Christmas for Hall County youths on Dec. 6, delivering gifts bought through their Empty Stocking Fund to Hall County elementary schools.
The Jaycees helped provide clothing, shoes and toys for nearly 500 Hall County children and delivered the gifts to 25 schools.

The Empty Stocking Fund is provided through the Jaycees' raffle and donations. The raffle is ongoing and will last until Dec. 16 when a drawing will be held for the winner. This year's grand prize is a $5,000 gift card. To buy a ticket, contact Jaycees president Danny Sanderson at 770-712-9378.

Those wishing to donate to the Empty Stocking Fund can make checks out to the Gainesville Jaycees and mail them to P.O. Box 126, Gainesville, GA 30503.

Families were served lunch, entertained with the timeless Christmas story, and given Christmas gifts for their children Dec. 4 at the 12th annual Good News at Noon Shelter Christmas party.

Almost 300 people tool part in the event that was organized by Lakeview Academy and Browns Bridge Community Church.

Lakeview Academy transported families by bus and was host to a lunch on campus. Gifts collected at Browns Bridge Community Church were wrapped and given to each family.

This celebration of Christmas began under the servant leadership of Pat England, former Director of Admission at Lakeview Academy; Reggie Joiner, of Orange; Ferrell Singleton, former Headmaster of Lakeview Academy; and Gene Beckstein of Good News at Noon. Good News at Noon regularly feeds more than 150 people each day from all walks of life.
